I love this catwalk show by Kimono Hiro! Its what kimono is all about for me- a beautiful garment which reflects Japanese culture but which can be worn by anyone of any background or culture.
Key elements of this show that stand out for me are the on-stage re-dressing of one model, turning the art of kitsuke into part of the performance, and the use of models with very varying heights, races, body shapes, and overall looks. I think this showcases the versatility of kimono. They really CAN make every different person look good, and be worn in way which reflects the unique style of the wearer.
